☻Mission

The major objectives of the graduate institute are to facilitate research and scholarly inquiry, the preparation of professionals, and the provision of service in the domains of physical education, health & recreation.
☻Curriculum

All students in the master’s program are required to complete 36 credits (professional programs 11 required credits, 19 selective credits, and thesis 6 credits).

The program includes two areas of major:

(1) Sports Health Science.

(2)Sports Education & Recreation.

☻Faculty

Three full professors, five associate professors, one assistant professors. Among them, there are nine PhDs. PE Department faculty specialize in various academic and technical areas of sports and exercises, and have experience teaching physical education at the primary and secondary levels both in Taiwan and abroad.

Our career development is prepared for professions such as sport science researchers, PE teachers, sport and exercise trainers, coaches and consultants, sport administrators, and sport management or leisure service employees.

In addition to gymnasiums, exercise fields, volleyball fields and basketball courts, the NCYU PE Department has collection of books and periodicals. In addition, the faculty of the PE Department has established a variety of specialized experimental and research labs, including: a sports physiology and wellness lab; a human performance lab; a sports biomechanics lab; a physical education research lab; a sports leisure and tourism research lab; and a sports industry research lab. These experimental and research labs are all equipped with a wide selection of physical education and sports-related research instruments and equipment.

Perspectives We pursue excellence in interdisciplinary teaching, scholarship, and service to address evolving recreation and leisure rights, needs, and interests and to promote inclusion and social justice in national and international communities. We seek to educate professionals who place equal emphasis on research and practice in the areas of physical education, health and recreation. We offer a diverse curriculum design, encourage professional growth, support international academic exchanges, and promote developments in the fields of sports sciences, recreational management and sports pedagogy.
