The Department of Special Education was established in 1992; whereas, the Graduate School of Special Education, 2001. The chairpersons of special education department have served as a critical impetus to the development of the graduate programs. The faculty and staff members are the same both in Graduate School and Department of Special Education to ensure the same visions and facilities. The former aims to cultivate outstanding elementary school teachers in the fields of normal and special education settings or institutions; whereas, the latter, outstanding researchers or workers in addition to teaching or related areas. Besides the cultivation of professionalism in practical teaching and theory, the spirits of humane accomplishments and social work services are equally emphasized.
