1. New faculty and staff should complete the "Safety and Health Requirements for New Employees of National Chiayi University" (version 11212 in Appendix 1) within 1 month from the date of employment, and submit the certificate of training hours to the Occupational Safety Section of the Environmental Safety Center .
2. New faculty and staff should complete the following matters:
(1) In accordance with Articles 20 and 21 of the Occupational Safety Law, provide a physical examination that meets the examination items and has not exceeded the statutory examination period, and is conducted at a labor physical and health examination medical institution recognized by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Please submit the report directly to the Xinmin Campus Health Center, which will be properly kept and kept confidential in accordance with the law. Medical institutions can check it at (https://hrpts.osha.gov.tw/asshp/hrpm1055.aspx).
1. For those who hold jobs that are particularly hazardous to health (as listed on the first page of the attachment), in addition to the general physical examination, special physical examination items will be added according to the type of work.
2. For non-continuous temporary or short-term jobs, the general physical examination for new recruits will be exempted within six months of the working period. However, if the nature of the job is an operation that is particularly hazardous to health, a special physical examination report must still be submitted. .
(2) In accordance with Article 34 of the Occupational Safety Law, students must sign and pledge to abide by the school's safety and health work code (please refer to the Environmental Safety Center Home Page/Occupational Safety Group/Main Menu/Business Items/Instructions for New Employees).
(3) In accordance with Article 32 of the Occupational Safety Law, they are obliged to receive safety and health education and training.
1. General occupational safety education and training (according to the occupational safety and health education and training rules, online courses can be credited for up to 2 hours. Each unit should conduct a separate 1-hour physical occupational safety course based on the work content and environment, and keep the implementation data for future reference) , online course study methods (just choose one):
(1) Chinese and English online courses: Log in to the occupational safety and health digital learning platform https://isafeel.osha.gov.tw/ as a "Worker" mooc/index.php, take two 2-hour courses online, "General Occupational Safety and Health Education and Training Courses (Part 1) and (Part 2)", and obtain a certified hours certificate as a certificate.
(2) Receive 3 hours of general occupational safety education and training from an external institution within three years and obtain a certificate.

If it is in fields such as biology/chemistry/electrical machinery, each unit should add relevant education and training (in accordance with occupational safety and health education and training rules) according to the nature of the work, and keep course schedules, sign-in records, photos and other implementation materials for future reference.
3. New employees should participate in the school’s annual safety education and training in general places or experimental internship places (in summer).
3. Penalties:
(1) New employees: Those who violate Article 20, Item 6, Article 32, Item 3 and Article 34, Item 2 of the Occupational Safety Law will be fined if found by the labor inspection unit. A fine of less than NT$3,000 is imposed.
(2) Employing unit: Those who violate Article 20, Item 1, Article 21, Item 1, and Article 32, Item 1 of the Occupational Safety Law, if found by the labor inspection unit, the employing unit will be fined NT$30,000. A fine of more than 150,000 yuan and less than 150,000 yuan may be imposed.
4. The Occupational Safety and Health Law has been fully implemented since January 1, 2020, and has been expanded to apply to public administration and other industries. Our school belongs to the education industry and is an enterprise subject to the Occupational Safety and Health Law. Our teachers and administrative staff (including public servants) Personnel), etc. are all called workers under the same law. All units are requested to abide by the Occupational Safety Law and related regulations to ensure the safety of workers.
