配天宮

配天宮

    位於臺灣嘉義縣六腳鄉工廠村的蒜頭糖廠媽祖廟，建於1921年，是臺灣日治時期唯一設立於糖廠內的媽祖廟。當時，蒜頭糖廠的酒精工廠剛開工不久，員工頻頻發生意外，機械也常無故故障，導致村民人心惶惶。由於當地流傳已久的「黑狗精作祟」傳奇故事，糖廠員工普遍認為是妖魔為害。雖然日本廠方原本禁止在廠內設置廟宇，但面對連連不安的情勢與糖廠員工的陳請，最終破例允許員工前往朴子配天宮迎請媽祖神像進駐糖廠，以祈求平安。從此，糖廠內設立了媽祖廟，庇佑一方。

    配天宮於2001年受納莉風災影響而遭到摧毀，同年信徒們決定改建新廟，把大媽、二媽、三媽、鎮殿媽和虎爺、太子爺神像移到臨時行宮(今笑瞇瞇懸絲偶劇團表演場地)，於2005年進行入火安座儀式，目前的糖廠配天宮為此時期所建。


Peitian Temple

    Located in Gongchang Village, Liujiao Township, Chiayi County, the Suantou Sugar Factory’s Peitian Temple, dedicated to the sea goddess Mazu, was built in 1921. It is the only Mazu temple ever established inside a sugar factory during the Japanese colonial period in Taiwan.

    Shortly after the factory’s alcohol production facility began operations, a series of accidents plagued workers and machinery often malfunctioned inexplicably, causing panic among employees and residents. Local legend blamed the trouble on the “Black Dog Spirit’s Haunting,” a belief widely shared among the sugar factory workers. Although the Japanese management initially prohibited the construction of any temple on the factory grounds, persistent petitions from employees and the continued unrest eventually persuaded them to make an exception by allowing a Mazu statue from Peitian Temple in Puzi to be brought in and enshrined in the factory for protection. From that time on, the Mazu temple stood watch over the factory community. From then on, the Mazu temple watched over the factory community.

    In 2001, Peitian Temple was destroyed by Typhoon Nari. That same year, devotees decided to rebuild it. The statues of the First, Second, and Third Mazu, as well as the Main Hall Mazu, the Tiger God, and the Crown Prince deities, were temporarily relocated to a provisional shrine (now the performance venue of the Sweet Smiles Marionette Troupe). In 2005, the fire-entering and installation ceremony was held, marking the completion of the current Peitian Temple that stands at the sugar factory today.

 
配天宮（ペイティエンゴン）

    台湾嘉義県六脚郷工廠村に位置する蒜頭製糖工場の「配天宮」は、1921年に建立され、日本統治時代に台湾で唯一、製糖工場内に設置された媽祖廟です。

    当時、蒜頭製糖工場に付設したアルコール工場の操業を開始してから、事故が頻発し、機械の故障も相次いだため、村民たちは大いに不安を感じていました。地元では古くから「黒狗精（黒犬の妖怪）の仕業」という伝説が語り継がれておるゆえ、多くの工員たちはそれが妖怪の仕業だと信じていました。当初、工場敷地内に寺廟を設置することは禁じられていましたが、不安な状況と工員たちの嘆願に応じて、日本人の工場経営者は例外的に廟の設立を認めました。このように、朴子の配天宮から媽祖の神像を迎え入れ、工場に安置しており、媽祖は無事と平安を守る一帯の守護神となったのです。

    2001年、配天宮は台風ナーリーによって倒壊されました。同年、信者たちにより再建を始まり、大媽、二媽、三媽、鎮殿媽、虎爺、太子爺の神像を一時的に仮の宮殿（現在の「笑瞇瞇糸あやつり人形劇団」の公演スペース）に移し、2005年に入火安座の儀式を行いました。現在の配天宮はその時期に建てられたものです。
