National Chiayi University actively promotes international scientific research exchange and industry-academia collaboration. From October 8 to 10, NCYU represented Taiwan at BioJapan 2025 held in Yokohama, Japan. This annual event is Japan’s leading biotechnology exhibition and Asia’s largest forum for pharmaceuticals and regenerative medicine. The exhibition brought together top research institutions and industry representatives from around the world in biomedicine, regenerative medicine, and health technology. NCYU showcased multiple innovative research achievements and technological applications, fully demonstrating its academic research and development capabilities while strengthening ties with the international biomedical industry.
A key highlight of the exhibition was NCYU’s latest R&D achievement – the integration of green extraction technology with herbal exosomes. The technology centers on NCYU’s newly patented “Plant Exosome-Compatible Green Solvent.” Incorporating sustainable processes such as low-temperature and ultrasonic extraction, the technology not only effectively reduces the environmental impact of production but also stabilizes the size of exosome nanoparticles, significantly enhancing the preservation efficiency of bioactive compounds. These nanoscale carriers, endowed with biomedical activity and functionality, have been applied by the NCYU team to a range of biomedical products, including dietary supplements, medical devices, and precision therapy platforms. This breakthrough attracted considerable attention at the international exhibition, showcasing NCYU’s strong potential to translate academic research into practical industrial applications.
In addition, NCYU is actively promoting technology transfer and international partnerships. During the exhibition, the NCYU team met with MarksMan Healthcare Communications Pvt. Ltd., an India-based company specializing in pharmaceutical development, health economics, and medical affairs services, as well as Japan-based Yuki Sakurai and executives from Tokyo IMG Clinic. They engaged in in-depth discussions on the green extraction technology of exosomes derived from Taiwan’s native medicinal plants and the development of biomedical material products, exploring opportunities for future strategic cooperation and industrial applications.
BioJapan ranks among the most influential international exhibitions in the biotechnology and healthcare sectors. At this platform, NCYU presented technological breakthroughs ranging from green extraction to herbal exosome technology and engaged with global experts and industry partners. This participation reaffirmed the university’s world-class research capacity and opened new opportunities for cross-border collaboration. NCYU will continue to promote the practical application of innovative scientific research through international cooperation and industry-academia collaboration, further benefiting society at large.
