Inna, Chien-Ying Yang, a pianist who obtained the education in both Taiwan and Russia, is one of the most active performer, professor and chamber artist in Taiwan.
Inna, Chien-ying Yang began her music studies with David Saidenberg, American pianist. Has graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts, where she studied piano performance with German professor Rolf-Peter Wille. In 2006 graduated from the graduate school of Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory with full marks and achieved higher performance degree under the studio of National Artist of Armenia, Professor Yuri Hayrapetyan, student of legendary Russian pianists Yakov Flier. She has also studied collaborating piano with Iliya Kogan and chamber music with famous conductor Alexander Rudin.
Besides winning numerous competitions in Taiwan, in 2002, Inna, Chien-ying Yang won the 5th Prize in Mauro Paulo Monopoli International Piano Competition, Italy. In year 2005, she won the grand prize in the 10th Taipei International Chopin Competition and has been invited to perform in Warsaw, Poland. Her solo recitals were held in Taiwan, Russia, Poland, Ireland, Thailand, Philippine and USA. Inna, Chien-Ying Yang also recorded numerous album including solo, piano duo and chamber music.
In year 2005, Ms. Yang was selected to participate in the “Tel-Hai International Piano Master Classes” in Israel, under scholarship. She won a memorial prize and also won a prize by performing a new piece by Israeli composer Michael Wolpe. In this music camp, she worked her solo repertoire with worldwide famous teachers such as Bruce Brubaker, John O’Conor, Alexander Mndoyants, Emanuel Kratsovsky and Alon Goldstein. Besides that, she worked her piano trio repertoire with famous Israeli string players, Vera Vaidman and Zvi Harell.
Inna, Chien-ying Yang performed piano concertos with NTNU orchestra and Taiwan Symphony Orchestra numerously. In 2007 she performed Rachmaninoff’s second piano concerto with Taichung Symphony Orchestra. In 2008 she performed G.Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” with Taipei Philharmony Orchestra in National Concert Hall, Taipei. In 2010, invited as soloist in “2010 Taipei International Chopin Festival”, she played the “Don Giovanni” variations by Chopin with Evagreen Symphony Orchestra, which was the premier performance in Taiwan. She gave recitals in Taiwan, Russia, Poland, Ireland, Thailand, Philippine and USA. Now she constantly plays recitals, chamber music and introduces contemporary music both in Taiwan and other countries.
Since 2011, Inna, Chien-ying Yang joined as a faculty member of the music department of Chia-Yi University, as an Associate Professor and has been chair of the Humanity and Art Center. She was also the Coordinator of “2016 NCYU Piano Camp”, and “2016 NCYU Art Festival”.
